E-Books
The Library is pleased to announce that e-Book titles were purchased during 2012/3. E-books are book-length publications in digital form consisting of text, images, or both that is produced and published through and readable via computer or other electronic devices. E-books can be the equivalent of conventional printed books or they can be stand alone e-titles. VUT Libraries has acquired a number of e-book collections listed below and the collection is still growing:

A wide range of subjects and topics are covered to meet various patron research needs, including substantial offerings in Self-Help, Health & Fitness, Games, Crafts & Hobbies, Medical, Cooking and Religion. This collection also features titles on Recreation and Leisure, Geography, Commerce, Finance, The Family, Marriage, Women, Folklore, Social and Public Welfare, and Home Economics. The ProQuest Ebook Central | The ProQuest Ebook Central – platform combines ebook content from several other ProQuest ebook platforms, into a single interface. The content includes ebooks previously hosted on the ebrary EBL platforms for a total of nearly 145 000 ebooks. The content covers the full range of subjects from a variety of university presses, trade publishers, and popular presses. New content is added regularly. Remote Access (off campus) |
Laptop/Desktop Computers: You will need Adobe Digital Editions to download ebooks to your laptop or desktop. This free software is different from Adobe Reader. A free Adobe ID is also required to transfer the ebook to another device. Your e-book central site identifier (Site ID) is: vaal (Mobile Access: use Bluefire.
